What to put in the email
Most exchanges take one reply instead of three when the first message has these in it.
The email address on your account
If you have paid, use the address you paid with. That is how we find a purchase, and it is the one thing we cannot look up without you.
What you were doing, and what happened instead
“The timer kept running after I submitted” tells us more than “the exam is broken”, and it usually tells us enough to reproduce it.
If it is about a question: the question itself
Paste the stem, or tell us which domain it was in. Every explanation carries its source, so if you think an answer is wrong, telling us which source you checked gets it fixed fastest.
What we cannot help with
State License Prep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state department of insurance or any testing vendor, and we are exam preparation rather than a pre-licensing education provider. So we cannot book, reschedule or cancel your exam, cannot tell you the status of a license application, and cannot give legal or licensing advice. Those all go to the department or the testing vendor directly.
We do keep an up-to-date, sourced summary of the Texas licensing steps, with links to the official pages, which answers most of what people write in to ask.
Before you write
Sign-in trouble, a payment that has not appeared, and refunds all have a page of their own: help with your account. Everything else people ask often enough to write down is on the FAQ.
